I was born and raised in Colorado, spending much of my youth in the mountains where camping, hiking, and climbing shaped my love for the outdoors. That passion carried into photography—starting in a high school darkroom and evolving as I traveled to remote places around the world.

For 20 years, I served as a U.S. Army Green Beret, operating across four continents and learning that mastering the basics is what carries you through the most demanding environments. That same mindset guides how I approach the outdoors today—whether it’s navigation, preparation, or resilience on the trail.

Now retired, I focus on hiking, backpacking, and photography—sharing what I’ve learned so others can explore the outdoors safely, confidently, and with the skills to go further than they thought possible.
